Tachyonic Antitelephone

about

MetaSynth is capable of creating some nasty and quite scary sounds. In 2009, I sat down and tried to make dark and uncomfortable sounds, and I used a few of them in two TV Documentaries. I have now arranged them together in a new composition which gives me associations to what is known as the Tachyonic Antitelephone, a device that makes it possible to go "back in time". The more we think of the possible concequences of a device like this, the more frightening the idea becomes! - (Read more about this track in the 25 pages pdf Booklet that comes with the album download!)

Albert Einstein got an idea in 1907, now known as a Tachyonic Antitelephone. It's a device using tachyons (theoretically existing faster-than-light particles) that would allow the user to "telegraph into the past”. This means that I can actually communicate with myself - in the past. This hypothetical situation is a "paradox of causality" because if it was possible for me to influence the past, I could change things in a way that I might not exist in the future, and then it would no longer be possible for me to call myself from the future.
